Permanent Residency
Permanent residency refers to an individual’s legal status as a resident in a foreign country or territory where they possess the right to reside permanently, despite not being a citizen. Typically, this status is granted for an indefinite period, and a person with such legal status is known as a permanent resident. In the United States, individuals with permanent residency are commonly referred to as green card holders and formally as Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR).
